Juwel Roy took no prisoners as the Scintilla CC star bludgeoned 102 on the way to his teams massive victory over Redbridge CC.
Roy was not the only high scorer in the game. Ashfaqur Rahaman Nobel (56) and Ishaq Shawn (44) added excellent knocks as the Barking & Dagenham club racked up 268 from 36 overs to reach their highest score this season.
As the game was rain effected Redbridge were set a revised target of 184 runs from 25 overs. They managed to score scored 133/9 from their quota of 25 overs. Vice captain Sajal Rahman took 3 wickets alongside Ayaz Karim and Firoz Dogha, who shared 2 wickets each.
‘It’s a proud moment for me,’ said man of the match Juwel Roy. ‘The weather was a real test but we came together really well. I’m only as good as my team mates and I dedicate this to all of them.’
Captain Ayaz Karim added, ‘Despite the threat of rain flooding we pulled off a huge win. This will send a message through to the rest of the league, that we mean business and are hungry for success. Well done to Nobel and Shawn for their fantastic support in helping Roy reach his century.’
