Scintilla Chairman’s XI take home the silver

Scintilla Cricket Club held an exhibition game at Fairlop Waters as the club captain and chairman locked horns in a tactical battle. 

The chairmans First XI batted first to reach 231/8 from 35 overs with Ishaq Shawn scoring 78, Bellal Hossain 33, Waqar Ali 30, and Naufal Zamir, 26. 
Second XI captain Shaha Riadh plundered three wickets and he was joined on the board by Rifat (2), Morshed Rahman (2), Adil Ejaz Bhatti (1). 

The seconds made a valiant effort with the bat but we’re all bowled out for 214 from 34.5 overs. Top scorers were Rahman with 30 and Riadh with 28. 
Senior captain Ayaz Karim took 2 wickets along with veteran Zakir Hossain, followed by vice captain Sajal Rahman, 

Abul Hasib and Shawn with one each. 
There was a special moment for the club as Scintilla club stalwart S. M Zakir Hossain was presented with a birthday cake as appreciation for his outstanding service to the club. 

Club sponsor Naufal Zamir said, ‘It’s been a really fun day. The boys have displayed tremendous spirit and it has been good to get one over my son who was in opposition. I will enjoy the bragging rights.’

Club captain Ahmed Choudhury added, ‘This has been a fun packed day but it has been useful on many fronts and has allowed us to address various tactics and the form of the current crop of players.’

Club chairman Emdad Rahman MBE concluded, ‘It’s been such good fun and a brilliant way for the whole squad to get together. This will positively impact on our run in and I hope we can do more games like this in the future.’
